Here is the second posting of the stuff we got in from Wilde. All the new stuff is listed at the top of the Wilde Tool Closeout page. More to come tomorrow. The highlight of today I think is the Wilde 7VGR shown here:
This is not just an awesome USA stamped vise-grip, it is an interesting piece of history. Here is a US locking plier, but this was not made by Vise-grip and it doesn’t appear to be an old Crescent model, so I’m going to have to assume that Wilde made this one themselves. I know that Wilde did buy some of Vise-grips machines when they moved overseas, but from what we’ve heard they don’t have much interest in getting into the locking pliers game.

no interest? have they seen the new pos vice grips? i think the market is ripe for some u.s. made locking pliers.
I don’t have an “official” explanation. Just what I’ve heard. Next time I order some Wilde I’ll ask. I think they’d be great to. Also not sure which machines they got from vise-grip. They could have nothing to do with their locking pliers line.
Interesting. I wonder who is now supply the DOD &GSA with Made in the U.S. of A. Locking Pliers?
Hey if any of the Froeschl Family members who are involved in the day to day operations of Wilde, please take note, the market is there!
Irwin’s proudly made in Communist(Note Communist) Red China are made from recyled scrap metal of unknown substance and the workmanship is pure C***!!!
Yep you CAN immediately tell the difference between the U.S. Made Vise-Grips and the C*** from Bejing!!!
Is there a Circle “I” stamped on the tool somewhere.
If so, this would be the long ago bought out by Stanley Works, Parker Manufacturing Company of Worechester, Mass.
For a number of years this company was a Sears-Roebuck & Company vendor for Craftsman and Dunlap brnad tools for Sears.
Prior to 1964, Parker manufactured Craftsman and Dunlap brand screwdrivers for Sears, prior to Western Forge Company (Mr. Lectrolite & Sears joint venture) being awarded the contract in 1965.
Parker manufactured the Craftsman locking pliers, up until around 1988/1990, when Stanley purchased the Company.
Parker was Circle “I”
Sorry for mispelling the town name.
Joe F. of NYC, you out there or if anyother reader knows him and can contact him, tell him to read Epstein’s site!
