Martin 9 pc Screwdriver Set

This is a 9 pc old stock Martin Screwdriver set. We have varying quantities on the sizes, so we can only make up 15 of the 9 pc before it’s going to drop down to an 8 pc, and so on. All US made of course. Handles are all the same. I just turned some of them so you can better see the tips. Says “Martin USA” on one side and “Chrome Vanadium” on the other. Mixed square and round shank. Priced out individually on Amazon this set would cost around $80. Our price $27.50.

Studying the handles and blade still, I wonder if these were made by Vermont-American?

It is interesting to note, just who makes what for who.

In Martin’s case, the blades may be made “In House”, with the handles supplied by another vendor, such as A & L Handle Company (formely a division of Pratt-Reed, now owned by Ideal Industries) of Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

This firm alone, provided a Considerable number of handles to various manufacturers over the years, such as Pratt-Reed, Stanley, Armstrong Brothers, to name a few.

It is interesting in itself, in how the plastic handles are made and A&L showed how on it’s web-site.
