Tool knowledge

Had a nice surprise the other day. A customer of ours sent us his union sticker along with a whole packet of information concerning the history of US manufacturing, which got me thinking. There are a lot of guys out there with an incredible knowledge of tools. This information pops up in places like toolguyd, garagejournal, garagegazette and alloy artifacts. (I’m sure there are many others.)

We are busy designing a new website that will try to unleash some of this knowledge. The first part of this will be to have customer reviews attached to the product pages, but I would also like to have US company history pages that can be constructed wiki style by Epstein’s and the users of our website. Overall, the new website is going to be much more interactive and I don’t want to go into all the new features yet, but let’s just say I hope that the people that are interested in constructing a complete picture of US tool manufacturing will find it as fun as I do to start piecing it together.
