Craftsman Screwdriver Sets

craftsman master screwdriver set

So these are the last sets I’m going to post from the Western Forge deal. There are still a number of odds and ends left and I’ll be posting them later today and probably tomorrow. Mostly screwdrivers of course. Meanwhile, there is just something nice about seeing a 100% USA Craftsman cushion grip screwdriver set laid out in the red, white and blue. Maybe I’m just a sucker for color coordination. Given all the talk recently of Craftsman moving more and more of its tools overseas, it is a little bittersweet.

If you are looking for something a little smaller, we also have the11 pc Craftsman cushion grip screwdriver set.

and if the 11 pc is too many, we have a 7 pc Craftsman cushion grip screwdriver set.

I actually own a USA made Craftsman brand 3/16 inch nut driver that not only has that type of grip, but the handle is also red as well.

I am guessing the vintage of my tool is around 2006 which may or may not be correct though. But as this has been said, it is rather bittersweet as Craftsman continues their tools overseas. Just read yesterday that now their sockets are going to be shipped overseas as well.

Must Signal the end of Operations at the Former Armstrong Brothers Forging Plant in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Former EASCO plant in Gastonia, North Carolina must be getting the axe also.

Boycott Sears LLC products made outside of the U.S. of A.

Educate yourself. It’s real simple. take the time and READ.

Don’t buy Craftsman Tools, Power, Stantionary or Hand, not Made in the United States of America, PERIOD!!!

May be Sears LLC will finally get the message, when ALL the foreign made junk throught the store just sits, & sits and sits.

Look what is underway a J.C. Penny Company.

If they don’t clean their respective act up, they will go the way of Monkey Ward ( Montgomery Wards).

Don’t recall the Local Sears Stores (2) and Sears on-line catalog, ever stock the following Pratt-Read (R-R) Craftsman Rubber Grip Screwdrivers:

    # 41066 Stubby Slotted

    # 41067 Stubby # 2 Phillips

    # 47108 1/4″ X 16″ Cabinet

    # 47109 # 2 X 16″ Phillips.

Anybody out their, every saw these items in your Local Sears Store?

Might be some tools that Sears never marketed for some reason, but had Pratt-Read undertake a limited production run?

Pratt-Read did make the 16″ slotted & phillips Craftsman screwdrivers, with the standard “Craftsman Handles” a few years back and did sale at retail stores and on line catalog.

The slotted version handle is too small for the blade, as I own one. Should have used a 1/4″ and or 5/16″ handle on this tool instead of the 3/16″ tool handle.

The rubber grip clear handle Craftsman screwdriver sets were marketed for smaller size hands, targeted for the female market. Never could understand why these did not go over well, regardless of gender, for adults with smaller hands.

Western Forge did a batch of pliers, also for smaller hands, under the Craftsman Brand.

The rubber grip Craftsman Nut Drivers, were far superior over the traditional Craftsman Nut Driver Handles in Standard and Metric.

Craftsman “H code” on Handeles (Stanley Works?), not P-R or WF.

I purchased a set of metric, that were discounted by the local ” Big Sears Store” several years ago. Nothing wrong with them as a payed under half price of regular price ( $24.00) around $9 to $ 12 dollars for the 7 piece set.

Solid gray handle with appropriate colored rubber grip, (blue, green, red, etc.)

The standard size were clear handles with appropriated colored rubber grip.

Several years ago, the local stores had a couple of sets of the standards, with clear red handles and black rubber grips.
